OVER 140 FEMALE BUSINESS OWNERS have been trained on digital marketing skills, as part of Ecobank’s initiative to continuously encourage female entrepreneurs in the country. The empowerment programme, launched in 2019, is organised by Ecobank Female Entrepreneurs Initiative, EFEI. It drew participants from Lagos and its environs.
Ecobank statement said the empowerment programme was designed to recognise women as separate market segment. The programme combined empowerment and capacity building, in form of training and seminars, networking, events, loans, trade fairs and exhibition of customers products.
Daberechi Effiong, Head, Consumer Asset Product, Ecobank Nigeria, at the event, stated that the training focused on building participants digital marketing skills to boost their businesses online, according to the bank’s statements. Apart from growing their businesses, the training would position the female entrepreneurs for increased participation, validation and contribution to their communities.
Effiong is the coordinator of Ecobank Female Entrepreneurs Initiative, DFEI. She said the training, also, focused on social media marketing, search engine optimisation, content building and Ecobank female entrepreneurs’ opportunities.
The empowerment programme, provides the female entrepreneurs necessary support to excel in their endeavours, promote and grow their businesses.
