CONTROVERSIAL ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE, the man in eyes of several political storms in his ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, is again, in the news. Abuja Federal High Court has restrained Oshiomhole from functioning as national Chairman of the party, on Wednesday.
Justice Danlami Senchi, ordered that Oshiomhole remain on suspension pending the determination of the main suit. He held that the party wrongfully continued to retain him as National Chairman while he is under suspension as a member of the party.
Justice Senchi ordered Oshiomhole to stop parading himself as National Chairman of the party, and directed the party to cease acknowledging him as its national chairman. He, also, order the party to deny Oshiomhole access to the party secretariat.
Oluwale Afolabi, in an application of interlocutory injunction filed before the court, asked the court to remove Oshiomhole as the party Chairman. That Oshiomhole’s rights as APC member is currently abated and he cannot continue as Chairman of the party, having been suspended as member of the party in his Ward in Edo State.
Oshiomhole’s hands are full of crisis in APC, at the national level, and his home, Edo State. He has been at loggerheads with Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo State. The party in Edo State is divided into factions. The activities of the factions are degenerating into violent crisis that is engulfing the State.
Several top members of the party, recently, passed vote of no confidence over his leadership style. He has been accused of been responsible for the party losing some states to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
