RALF RANGNICK -- MAN UNITED INTERIM MANAGER

RALF RANGNICK’S first game in charge of Manchester United, on Sunday, at Old Trafford, was an optimistic start for his managerial job in United.  United beat Crystal Palace [1—0], with Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos’ goal at 77 minutes.

Fred, as he is well known, was simply superb in the middle, after been vilified in his previous performance in United. With the victory over Crystal Palace, United have moved up within three points to the top four, presently sixth in the Premier League table.

At 23 minutes of play, Fred had a chance to score, but his left-footed effort was blacked by James Tomkins and went out for a corner-kick. It was obvious, Fred was looking busy with his work rate at the midfield. With 30 minutes to full-time, his efforts paid-off with his goal, and the Red Devils smiled with [1—0] victory.

FRED CELEBRATES HIS GOAL AGAINST CRYSTAL PALACE

United had a first-half that was very bright, but ended without result.  Cristiano Ronaldo had a bright chance, but his shot was blocked by Marc Guehi. He also squandered 11 minutes free-kick which he blazed over.

He was full of energy and hungry, as usual, for goals at the early start, but no goal to show for it. Rangnick may find Ronaldo being on the starting line-up in his game plan.
